We reward students for doing the right thing with fun activities such as attending a Detroit Pistons basketball game.
We provide educational and developmental opportunities for students such as summer tutoring for passing the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT).
We provide summer education and fitness programming.
Our annual Walk/Run Fundraiser helps to provide resources to support the S.T.R.I.V.E. program.
Who We Are
S.T.R.I.V.E. began in 1997 as a Toledo Police Department initiative to reach out to at-risk youth through educational and recreational activities. It evolved into a stand alone nonprofit organization in 2012. Building on the African proverb “it takes a village to raise a child”, S.T.R.I.V.E. uses the power of our community to raise up our youth.
Flo Wormely is the director of the organization. She is extremely passionate about mentoring and is a familiar face to Toledo students of all ages. Her commitment to the future of STRIVE has resulted in an active working board and two annual fundraisers.
Whether your children need help passing O.G.T.s, mentoring, or a safe place for summer activities STRIVE is the place for them.
